Your camera roll is searchable the moment you open the app.
Framea no longer asks you to import anything. It indexes the photos and videos already on your iPhone, automatically, and keeps up as you shoot.
New
- Automatic indexing. No add button and no folders to pick - Framea reads your library in the background and new shots become searchable on their own.
- Your photos stay on your iPhone. Only a small thumbnail is sent for AI analysis. Videos are uploaded to be transcribed, then deleted from our servers.
- Search what was said. Speech in your videos is transcribed and searchable, so you can jump straight to the moment someone said it.
- Albums that build themselves, grouped by event, place and subject, and mirrored into your Photos app.
- Better date search: “past year” or “last summer” now return everything from that period rather than a handful of matches.
Improved
- Photos and videos stored on your device now display everywhere in the app, including collection covers and shared links.
- Collections tell you when they are still filling in instead of appearing empty.
- When indexing pauses, Framea now explains why.
- Duplicate and burst shots are recognised automatically, so indexing is faster and uses less data.
Fixed
- Search sometimes returned no results even when matching media existed.
- Videos were represented by only a few frames, so anything spoken in them was unsearchable.
- Photos were grouped by the date they were indexed rather than the date they were taken, collapsing the timeline into a single month.
- A lapsed sign-in could permanently skip photos, leaving them out of search with no way to retry.
